We are excited to announce that two Canadian protein companies have been selected to participate in MBOLD’s Bold Growth mentorship program.    

As MBOLD elevates our region as a global driver of innovation in the sustainability of traditional and plant-based proteins, we recognize the critical role of start-ups in driving that innovation. We also know that MBOLD’s corporate leaders are uniquely suited to help start-ups thrive through one-on-one mentorship they can’t get anywhere else.

With that in mind, we opened our Bold Growth mentorship program to protein businesses from around the world. For our inaugural Bold Growth International cohort we selected:

• Prairie Fava, a vertically integrated company that produces food ingredients from fava beans, an up-and-coming crop with a very favorable environmental footprint, and  

• Three Farmers Foods, a manufacturer of snacks made from superfoods chickpea, fava and lentils.  

“Canada and the United States share a $1 trillion trade and investment relationship, with deeply integrated supply chains, especially in the agriculture and agri-foods sectors,” said Beth Richardson, Consul General of Canada in Minneapolis. “We’re proud to see two Canadian start-ups selected for MBOLD’s program. The plant protein industry is important to Canada’s economy and we look forward to these companies expanding their presence in the U.S. market with mentorship from MBOLD’s vibrant coalition of industry leaders.”
